SATURDAY 24th JULY - STOCK CARS & BANGERS

STOCK CARS:- 18 cars raced, including Maikel Rutter the European Champion from Holland, Ben Harding, world champion, and a junior visitor from Rugby Joe Fletcher.

The highest laps in the 3 rounds were Ben Harding 72 laps (twice), and Anthony Wyper 72, then 71 laps by Paul Jenkinson (twice), and Anthony Wyper, the 70 by Gary McMullen and Terry Crowley.  Final result:- 1st Ben Harding 71 laps, 2nd Paul Jenkinson 70. 3rd Gary McMullen 68, 4th Maikel Rutter 67, 5th Terry Crowley 67, 6th Duncan Stott 64, 7th Carl Baker 63, and 8th Anthony Wyper 21 laps.    There was a four car Grand Nationalm for any non-finalists, this was won by Chris Darlaston from Craig Howard both on 61 laps, 3rd Hannah Ayriss 56, and Joe Fletcher 52 laps.

BANGERS:- 13 cars raced - highest laps in the 3 rounds being 60 by Ian Yarwood.   Final result:- 1st Gary Osborne 53 laps, 2nd Jason Batty 52, 3rd Ian Yarwood 51, 4th Duncan Stott 47, 5th Cody Mallett 43, 6th Craig Robinson 38, 7th Lewis Brierley 36, 8th Brandon Eccles 32, 9th Jane Osborne 31, 10th Adam Sutherland 5 laps.

 

 

SATURDAY17th JULY - MIXED FORMULA,

STOCK CARS:- Eight cars races, in two heats of four.  Highest laps in the 3 rounds were 73 by Anthony Wyper, 70 by Anthony, and 69 by Terry Crowley and Duncan Stott.   Final result:- 1st Anthony Wyper 69 laps, 2nd Pete Ayriss 68, 3rd Duncan Stott 64, 4th Carl Baker 61, 5th Hannah Ayriss 49, 6th Terry Crowley 41, 7th Chris Darlaston 14, 8th Loran Darlaston - did not start in final.

BANGERS:-  One heat of 6 cars, highest laps in the 3 rounds being 53 and a 52 by Jason Batty, then 50 by Duncan Stott.  Final Result:- 1st Jason Batty 56 laps, 2nd Chris Darlaston 51, 3rd Duncan Stott 39, 4th Craig Robinson 38 laps.    There were no Saloonstocks racing.

 

 

SATURDAY 10th JULY - STOCK CARS - Only 12 cars today. racing in 2 heats, over the usual 3 rounds.  Highest laps in the 3 rounds being  74 - a new track record, by Anthony Wyper, then 72 by Paul Jenkinson, and 70 by Gary McMullen and Mark Moorwood.  In Round 1. Heat 2, an amazing thing happened - both Mark Moorwood and Gary McMullen got 70 laps, with the same split time, and the same fastest lap.  Final result:- 1st Anthony Wyper 70 laps, 2nd Mark Moorwood 69, 3rd Paul Jenkinson 68, 4th Gary McMullen 63, 5th Chris Darlaston 63, 6th Adam Sutherland 58, 7th Carl Baker 58, and 8th Pete Ayriss 57 laps.

A heat of 6 Bangers also raced - winner Adam Sutherland from Barrie Gregory.

STOCK CARS:- 16 cars for this meeting, highest laps in the 3 rounds being 71 by Anthony Wyper and Paul Jenkinson, then 70 by Anthony, and 69 Terry Crowley and Carl Baker.  FINAL RESULT:- 1st Anthony Wyper 72 laps, 2nd Gary McMullen 69, 3rd Mark Moorwood 69, 4th Carl Baker 68, 5th Paul Jenkinson 68, 6th Terry Crowley 68, 7th Pete Ayriss 64, and 8th Chris Darlaston - failed to start.     There was a 5 car Grand National won by Ian Warman (59 laps) from Adam Sutherland (58 laps).

SALOONSTOCKS:-  As there were only 3 cars, it could not count as a points meeting.  Vince Brickell broke the track record in the final with 70 laps, 2nd Adam Sutherland 66, and 3rd Ian Warman 58 laps.

A small heat of 5 Bangers also raced. Final winner being Barrie Gregory.

This was Round 4 of the 2010 National Series, and all 30 drivers who had booked in arrived in good time.  The drivers divided into 5 heats of 6 cars.  In Round 1, the highest laps were 87 by Anthony Wyper, 85 by Ben Harding and Carl Baker, then 84 by Paul Jenkinson.  In Round 2 it was 90 laps by Ben, 89 by Anthony and Paul, then 83 by Carl.  Round 3 saw Ben brake the track 5min record with 93 laps, then Anthony with 91, then Gary McMullen Carl, and Mark Moorwood on 88 laps.  Round 4 saw Ben do 92 laps, Anthony and Richard Harding on 87, then Paul on 86.  The drivers drop their worst heat - the top 7 go straight to the final, and these were:- 1) Ben Harding 275 laps, 2) Anthony 267, 3) Paul 261, 4) Carl 257, 5) Richard Harding 254, 6) Gary Mc 250, 7) Mark Moorwood 249 laps.

The next eight drivers went into the Consolation - Gary James(245 laps), Chris Darlaston(241), Chris Flynn(240), Jim Wilson(240), Peter Riddell(240), Jim Burkett(240), Gary Osborne(239) and Duncan Stott(235 laps).  Consolation Result:- 1st Duncan Stott 81 laps (Goes through to final), 2nd Peter Riddell 79, 3rd Chris Flynn 79, 4th Jim Wilson 78, 6th Jim Burkett 76, 7th Gary Osborne 53, 8th Gary James 31 laps.

Between the Consolation and Final there was a Grand National Race for non-qualifiers, with 10 cars racing. Race result:- 1st Jane Osborne 71 laps (won a free motor), 2nd Pete Ayriss 69, 3rd Miklos Szabados 69, 4th Jonathan Hartley 67, 5th Allan Inness 64, 6th Barrie Gregory 64, 7th Mark Craig 63, 8th Gary Riddell 56, 9th Jason Reed 49, 10th Shane Geary 1 lap.

GRAND FINAL RESULT:_ 1st Ben Harding 91 laps, 2nd= Anthony Wyper & Paul Jenkinson 88, 4th Gary McMullen 87, 5th Carl Baker 86, 6th Mark Moorwood 80 , 7th Duncan Stott 80, 8th Richard Harding 80 laps.

TROPHY WINNERS:- All 8 finalists. plus Concourse - Gary James. best white Hannah Moorwood, best yellow Shane Geary, best blue Chis Flynn,and best junior Jonathan Hartley.
